Select The Year Of Your Vehicle Below

The Jeep Wrangler SUV debuted from Jeep in 1987, as a replacement for the Jeep CJ. It's been both a member of both the compact and mid-size segments since then. The generation between the first year and 1995, called YJ, featured a selection of 2.5-liter four-cylinder and 4.2-liter inline-six engines, and they teamed up to either three-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmissions. A new 4.0-liter I6 engine was offered for 1991.

The next generation Jeep Wrangler, called TJ, came out in 1997; it was available until 2006. A new 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine was released in 2003, and soon after, in 2007, the completely redesigned Jeep Wrangler JK came out (if you're driving one today, though, there's a good chance that it's from 2018). A four-door variant got introduced at the same time, and a new 3.8-liter V6 engine became an option. It paired to one of three transmissions -- either a six-speed manual or a four- or five-speed auto. The Jeep Wrangler JL followed in 2018, incorporating either a turbocharged four-cylinder engine or a diesel-powered 3.0-liter V6, along with an eight-speed auto transmission.

Options abounded in 2021, both for two-door Jeep Wrangler and four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. A mild-hybrid 4xe trim was available, for instance, as were Sport, Sport S, Sahara, and Rubicon trims, not to mention those like Willys, 80th Anniversary, Altitude, High Altitude, and Islander. You could choose among several engines as well -- a 2.0-liter turbo I4, a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6, a 3.6-liter V6, and a 6.4-liter V8 -- plus either an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. Four-wheel drive (4WD) was standard. The 2022 model year brought with it fog lights, tow hooks, and keyless ignition, plus perks -- everything from alloy wheels and Alpine audio to ambient LED cabin lighting and an 8.4-inch touchscreen.
